Pet Industry Retailers
(PIR) is a
private
Yahoo group for retailers only, but many manufacturers and vendors can
(and do) benefit from PIR by becoming vendor partners.
As there are hundreds of independent store owners in the PIR network, it's easy
to promote your products to a large number of independent retailers (mostly
in the USA, but also worldwide), and it costs you absolutely
NOTHING to do so. There are no membership fees, no advertising costs, no expensive trade shows and
no travel expenses. Zero $ = no risk..
As of October 2008
the PIR online network has
over 475 members
worldwide!
Reaching the PIR Membership
To promote your products
to PIR, and get listed on our vendor
Specials page, all you need to do is
offer a discount or special to our membership.
Send us an email outlining the details of your offer, and we'll post it on
our website.
Examples of effective vendor promotions:
- Percentage off (e.g.
"15% off wholesale")
- Extra product with an
order (e.g. "Buy 6, get One Free")
- FREE shipping (e.g.
"Free freight over $200 in the continental USA")
Listing requirements:
- Discounts must be at
least 5% or offer free USA shipping
- Offers must be valid for
a minimum of 14 days (maximum 6 months)
- ISOs for new customers
are accepted, but we prefer that you offer a discount that can be
utilized by ALL our members.
Details to include in
your listing:
- Company name, phone
number
- Website URL and email
address for wholesale orders/info
- What your offer entails
(% off, free product, pre-paid shipping)
- Date the discount
expires
When our members contact you,
they will provide an Ordering
Code and ask for the PIR discount, so you can track orders from our
network. Because this website can be seen by the general public,
wholesale prices should not be listed in your offer. Please provide
that information directly to PIR retailers via email or phone when they
inquire.

You through PIR has taken GoughNuts from step 4 to step 55. Steps in this
case represent stores that GoughNuts are now selling to as a direct result
of your pet industry expertise. On November 27th last year we were lucky

indicates to the pet owner when to take the toy away to prevent potential
blockage. Since the PIR professionals have taken on the GoughNut project, or
have joined our team, we have had the luxury of having pet professional
across America explain and train the GoughNut visual safety indicator.

the pet industry and your generosity in giving it this simple instruction is
